This executive home, when built had "profession landscapers" design front and back yards. We will now show some pictures of back of home. Note large 20 foot deck off sun room on main building and 9 foot deck for adjacent one bedroom suite.

The tour continues with a sample of some of the trees, shrubs, flowers, that are awaiting the new owner. The kaleidoscope of colors during all Seasons. There is a large vegetable garden hidden at back of lot, secret garden, as well as some fruit trees.

Along right boundary is row of mature pine trees as well as spreading juniper and burning bush in fall colors.

At the edge of lawn in back yard are spruce trees, lilac, honeysuckle, quince, crabapple, blue spruce and in fall foliage the "sumac".

At the end of the fenced in vegetable garden area is apple tree, cherry tree, two unusual plumb trees. (Two different types of plumb on each tree & mature at different times), blue spruce & juniper Note row of scarlet runner beans along garden fence and view of garden sheds, apple tree, plumb and cherry tree from under the flowering crab at edge of "secret garden".

Below are some pictures of garden area. Scarlet runners along fence, peas, strawberries, cucumbers, beans and potatoes in various stage of growth. The humming birds love scarlet runners and the area is very active in season with these birds.

Walkway along side and at behind garage, shrubs and privacy fence at end of raised deck. center shrub is burning bush, which is changes colors with season and has red berries for the birds in the fall.

First picture above shows the common white lilac. A clump of birch in the "secret garden", the California lilac is next. This comes into bloom several weeks after the other lilacs. In this location is the very rare "black walnut tree", it is famous for its wood, fern like leaves and edible fruit.

  

 

Centre picture shows view from pathway of "secret garden" through arbor and back of house. On both sides are mountain ash,  quince, rose bush, honeysuckle, golden potentilla, crabapple and sumac. On both side of walkway various hosta.

For those that like Winter, here are a few pictures for your enjoyment. 2007 winter came early with snow and stayed. A real  heavy snow storm blanketed Nova Scotia in 2006, this is an exception. With the bird feeders, we sometime have up to seven pheasants.
